ACTIVITIES
SCOPE-LeMSIC has been responsible for the organization and success of four major local activities, namely:
• The Annual SCOPE Karaoke Night
• The Annual LeMSIC Gala Dinner
• “Contracts’ Giveaway Day”
• AUB-Rally Paper LeMSIC Car
Work on the many SCOPE activities has been divided among SCOPE’s mini Executive Board and the four newly formed sub-committees:
1- The Marketing and Incoming Student’s Package (ISP) Sub-Committee
2- The Gala Dinner Sub-Committee
3- The Academic Quality Sub-Committee
4- The Incoming Students Support Sub-Committee
SCOPE also is involved in:
• Marketing the IFMSA Exchange program among the doctors and the university
• Organizing and hosting international meetings
• Promoting the image of LeMSIC and Lebanon.

Major Events:
SCOPE’s Annual Karaoke Night
The annual Karaoke night takes place every October in collaboration with SCORE. It is a non-profit event aiming at introducing new and potential SCOPE/SCORE members to the IFMSA, to the current members and to each other (click for details…)
LeMSIC’s Annual Gala Dinner
The Annual Gala Dinner: one of the most important fundraising events and one of the highlights of the SCOPE/SCORE agenda.
The Gala Dinner serves to promote LeMSIC and SCOPE in Lebanon while at the same time ensuring the continuity of the exchange program for medical students (click for more details...).
“Contracts Giveaway Day”
A highly awaited day, specially for Med I students, as the exchange contracts are distributed to all students, giving priorities to the most active members of SCOPE as well as those of the other committees of LeMSIC.
During this day, students are offered 70 clinical clerkships to the 30 different countries that SCOPE has signed contracts with (click for more details…).
AUB Rally Paper’s LeMSIC Car
SCOPE instituted a new tradition for LeMSIC this year, as a team run in the name of LeMSIC in the very renowned AUB Rally Paper.
Intended to be a team forming event for LeMSIC, this did not lower the competitively that LeMSIC’s car offered to other competitor and proved this event to be a successful exposure event for LeMSIC to the AUB and the student’s communities at large (click for more details…).
The Four Sub-Committees
The Marketing and Incoming Student’s Package Sub-Committee (ISP-SC)
Following on the IFMSA guidelines, SCOPE-LeMSIC has been the pioneer in setting up a Subcommitte dedicated for this matter.
Among the many responsabilities that this SC has, three main have been set:
1- Create IFMSA’s First Incoming Student’s Package
2- Update and Renovate SCOPE’s Website
3- Create and maintain a Blog for exchanges (click more for details…).
The Gala Dinner Sub-Committee (Gala-SC)
In acknowledging the importance of the Gala dinner,as the single most important event that SCOPE organizes, Scope has set a fully dedicated SC to the task.
This team works in close cooperation with SCORE to form a creative and enthusiastic whole that will achieve and drive the success of the annual Gala Dinner - set in April.
Among the many tasks that this team will embark on, is coming up with a complete theme for the night and shooting a 15mns comedy movie/clip for the occasion (click for more details…).
The Academic Quality Sub-Committee
After the many IFMSA General Assemblies in which SCOPE-LeMSIC has taken a very active part, it was decided to adopt IFMSA general recommendations in an effort to make the international exchange program a more “Serious” and “academic” one.
Among the tasks of this subcommittee are:
- Implementing the “Student’s Logbook”
- Implementing the “Student’s Checklist”
- Collecting “Exchange Evaluations” and setting practical conclusions
- Collaborate with SCOME in forming a valid exchange clerkship

The Incoming Students Support Group
Following on our country’s reputation of having the most “hospitable” people, SCOPE-LeMSIC created a Subcommittee with a sole task: “Make the Incoming Student enjoy his stay”! This Subcommittee is responsible for a variety of issues starting with organizing “Contact Persons” to planning the “Perfect Social Program” (click for more details).
Other Activities
Promoting the Exchange program with the Doctors and University
Building on the experience and continuity from previous years, SCOPE LeMSIC has formed a close partnership with the Doctors and the Administration, allowing it to be more efficient at achieving local and international goals.
With the full support of the Dean’s Office at AUB-MC SCOPE has been able to offer more bilateral exchanges for AUB local students, as well as receiving properly all incomings to AUH.
Organizing and hosting international meetings
SCOPE-LeMSIC being on of the most active local committees in LeMSIC, and capping on its international connections, has been able to hold international meetings for LeMSIC.
Maybe three of the most important meetings that SCOPE-LeMSIC could help in were a IFMSA Team of Officials Meeting (TOM) in 2005 and anoher in 2007 as well as a Sub-Regional Training (SRT) Meeting in April 2004.
It has as well showed and affirmed an eternal will to host the IFMSA General Assembly (GA) in Lebanon - a meeting uniting over 1000 medical students from all around the world (click for more details...)!
And many other…
These activities are mere examples of the will of SCOPE to promote a healthier and more diverse student’s life.
It also shows an interest in SCOPE to promote para-curicular activities and person-based developmental opportunities. SCOPE has organized and continues to organize Leaderships Training Program (LTP) and offers training sessions in other fields: Project Management, Time Management, Communication Skills….
