LeMSIC ANNUAL GALA DINNER
One of the most important fundraising events and one of the highlights of the SCOPE/SCORE agenda.
Each year, towards the end of April, a date is set and the most awaited event on LeMSIC’s Calendar takes place.
It attracts yearly more than 320 guests, from medical students through all four classes, to interns and residents, to nurses and house staff passing by our attending physicians.
Taking place in one of the glamorous venues of Beirut, a central theme adds a sparkle to the night through the decoration of the ball room.
A 10-15 minutes clip is projected and forms one of the many highlights of the night. Also some other projections are shown, reflecting the humanitarian engagement of SCOPE and LeMSIC with the Lebanese society. Also the sponsors that form the backbone of the event are thanked individually.
The floor is then given to a small presentation of the year’s hard work in SCOPE and other LeMSIC committees. Finally rewards are given to those who helped SCOPE most during the past year and participated in making all this happen. The night then ends in the dance floor in a highly joyefull atmosphere that offeres the perfect space for medical students to interact and socialize away from the stress of the daily life of a medical student, and away from the hospital.
Assets collected from the dinner proceed to maintaining the exchange program running and helping other committees continue their excellent humanitarian work with the Cancer Center, the AIDS Patients, the deaf community, the people in need, and the outreach patients clinics.
Last year’s Gala Dinner took place on April the 30th in Biel’s Pavillon Royal. You can read the article written about it in Periscope.
