INTERNATIONAL MEETINGS

SCOPE-LeMSIC being on of the most active local committees in LeMSIC, and capping on its international connections, has been able to hold international meetings for LeMSIC. Maybe three of the most important meetings that SCOPE-LeMSIC could help in were an IFMSA Team of Officials Meeting (TOM) in 2005 and another one in 2007 as well as a Sub-Regional Training (SRT) Meeting in April 2004.

It has as well showed and affirmed an eternal will to host the IFMSA General Assembly (GA) in Lebanon - a meeting uniting over 1000 medical students from all around the world!

Meetings Held

Team Of officials Meeting (TOM)

The IFMSA Team of Officials is a board of more than 25 members from all around the world, holding key positions in the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (www.ifmsa.org).
Each year, the Team of Officials holds 5 annual meetings, three of which are during the IFSMA General Assemblies, and two in voted countries.
Lebanon has been voted twice to host these international meetings, affirming the international respect that LeMSIC has gained inside IFMSA. The last of which was held in December 2007.

The Sub-Regional Training (SRT)

LeMSIC's first SRT took place in April 2004 in collaboration with WHO.

The SRT is an international meeting during which representative students from different member countries in the IFMSA meet, discuss issues that are common and central, and receive training in fields that are vital to the prosperity of their committees and organizations.
It is a forum for empowering medical students to improve health delivery, and effectively serving students and communities, in addition to emphasizing cultural interaction and constructive communication.
