AUB RALLY PAPER - LeMSIC's CAR
AUB’s Rally Paper is the largest students’ run activity at AUB. It is organized yearly by the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture’s Student’s Representative Committee (FEA-SRC).It is the largest most covered rally paper in Lebanon, with prices rising up to over 20 000$ and a first price of 8 000$.
“Semi-professional” teams participate, and bases are formed at the most prestigious schools and corporation in the country. As fun as it might seem, the level of professionalism and competition is beyond compare. The rally is over a weekend and covers most of the area of Lebanon.
This year’s rally paper took place on the 21st and 22nd of October, and for the first time, LeMSIC summoned a team of its members to participate in it for three main reasons besides the fun of it!
It was a team building event for the new LeMSIC team, an exposure event for LeMSIC to the AUB community and the university at large, as well as a worth opportunity for a fund raising if luck was on our side.
At the end of two long days of intense driving, overseas phone calls, and hectic treasure hunting, LeMSIC’s team finished 9th overall, an excellent result given the circumstances and the logistics at hand, and was rewarded as the “Most Intelligent Car” by the organizers as a recognition for an exceptional winning of 12 stages out of the 17 road stages!!
Having achieved our goals, and having gained in experience, this event will surely be a tradition in the calendars of LeMSIC for years to come, and hopefully, a LeMSIC team will win the event one day!
